I specialize in relaxed, natural-light photo sessions.
I do not strive for the traditional perfectly posed, forward facing portrait of your child(ren). In fact, you might rather consider your photo session as anything other than a photo session.
Your session will normally look more like a day in your usual life (around the house, at the park, at the zoo, etc.) than a day at the photo studio. Think of me as your personal paparazzi (in a good way, of course). Typically, I'll spend some time getting to know you and your child(ren) first. Then as I begin to slip into your family's usual routine, I'll pull out the camera and start documenting the images of your lives. I find this candid approach, when children (and parents) are unaware of the camera, allows me to capture the best images while people are being themselves.

what should i expect during my session?
Photo sessions are never rushed, but are fun and relaxed. For this reason, sessions are booked for one-half or one full-day only. We will generally not book more than two sessions in one day allowing for ample time and attention to be devoted to your child(ren). Each half-day session consists of up to 3 hours of my time and full-day sessions up to 5 hours.
Your session fee must be received in full by cash, check or credit card when scheduling in order to secure your appointment. Please see our pricelist for further details.
A distance of up to approximately 40 miles round trip is included in your session. Call for details on additional travel.
All session fees are non-refundable. If your session needs to be postponed due to weather or illness, your fee will be applied to your rescheduled session.

where will my session take place?
I will be happy to shoot at a location of your choice (home, park, zoo, etc.), indoors or outdoors (weather permitting). Call for further location suggestions if needed. Otherwise, we are located in the West Chester/Liberty township area with several nice outdoor locations nearby. Click here for directions/map to the studio.
what should i/my child(ren) wear?
how will i view proofs?
Providing you with the best possible images is my number one priority. Simply put, this cannot be rushed. You should expect your images to be ready for viewing within 3 to 4 weeks of your session. Once your images are ready, we will provide you with a personalized slide show presentation of your images as well as a link to your private online proofing/ordering gallery. Be forewarned, it is not uncommon for moms (and sometimes even dads) to come to tears while viewing their slide show presentation.
Your proofing/ordering gallery will be available for 1 full month for viewing and order placement at your convenience. Feel free to share your login information with family and friends who may want to view and order images from your gallery. Additionally, your slide show will be available for purchase in your gallery.

When scheduling your appointment, your session will be considered tentative (not reserved) until we receive your session fee in full. If we do not receive your session fee in a timely manner (normally within 2 weeks) your session may be forfeited. We, therefore, recommend reserving your session date with a credit card by phone when scheduling, but we do accept checks by mail as well.

what should i/my child(ren) wear?
- The first and primary "rule" is to be yourself. Our style of photography is designed to reflect who you and/or your children are rather than what "works" according to traditional photography standards. Having said that, if you'd like more traditional tips, here are some additional suggestions.
- Simple, comfortable clothing works well, you might consider avoiding busy stripes or patterns (this is not a hard and fast rule - see rule number 1 above). If more than one person will be photographed, consider clothing that works well together.
- Multiple outfits are welcomed. When planning for multiple outfits, consider one very simple outfit (plain white dress or white shirt with solid pants) and some bold, colorful outfits as well (I tend to prefer bold and colorful myself).
- If you are having difficulties deciding on clothing, please see rule number 1.
- Shoes and socks are optional (stinky toes are not a problem).
